Cole’s Chair – Linocut, March 1976, 6″ x 6″
Contemporary realism, block print, figurative
Digging in a closet in the house I grew up in, I found this block print. Only one print. No block. I have no idea what became of them in these past 30 years. Thirty years ago I did a bit of printmaking, both linocuts and screen prints. This is all I have to show of it. I always liked this image. It came from a pencil drawing of my friend Cole. I don’t have the pencil drawing anymore either. I plan to revisit this image and create a new linocut and possibly a painting and add it to the “women in chairs” series I’m working on.
