In hot summer and cold winter or when I want to hear the TV blast, I work inside the house in this space surrounded by windows. I need to rearrange the space since the natural light is blocked by all the large canvases. But not today. I’m busy with the new Austin series and in particular my first skyline painting. Skylines are scary. They can be really really boring and/or really really wide. I’m having fun with this one and it’s a good size – 24″ x 36″ – so not too wide. And Austin has a pretty interesting skyline so I think this will be a wonderful painting. I call it Crossing South Congress. I photographed the image while I was crossing South Congress. And there’s an easteregg in it: my car is in the painting.
