We knew Ronnie when we were in high school. He was not. He was from Shreveport and lived on West Gray in Houston with other Shreveporters. He had the longest fingernails of anybody I ever knew. I did a lot of people sketching in those days and convinced him to sit still in that old vinyl chair long enough for me to make a sketch. Then I left for art college and this was one of my first paintings there.
The painting is 36″ x 40″, oil on canvas.

Sweet Old Sadie is a 30-page hardbound book and can be purchased now from
My freakin mind is spinning. Just when I’m wrapping my head around reconnecting with with ya’ll, here’s a portrait of weird, wonderful Ronnie. It’s all just too, too much. I’m going to a dark room and take a lie down.
Haha Laura! I know you never saw this one. The only thing missing is the fingernails. Just couldn’t do it.
Looking forward to getting together and catching up!
